Celebrities We Lost In 2018

This year saw the departure of so many of Hollywood’s most beloved and unforgettable talents, from entertainers and musicians to political figures and pop culture icons. And while these stars are no longer with us in present form, their memory and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and spirits of those who loved them.

At 47, the former model and mother to three of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ children, passed inside her Los Angeles home in November.

George H. W. Bush

The 41st president of the United States died in his Houston home at 94 after suffering from a years-long fight with vascular parkinsonism in November, several months after his wife Barbara died in April.

Barbara Bush

In April, the wife and former First Lady of George H. W. Bush died at 92 after discontinuing treatments for congestive heart failure and pulmonary disease.

Vanessa Marquez

The ER actress was shot and killed in a police shooting in August at 49.

Alan O’Neill

The Sons of Anarchy alum died of coronary artery disease in June at 47-years-old.

John McCain

The U.S. senator and decorated Vietnam War veteran died at 81 of glioblastoma (brain cancer) in August.

Margot Kidder

The Superman actress died by suicide of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose in May at age 69.

Stephen Hillenburg

The SpongeBob SquarePants creator died at 57 in November following a battle with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).

Colin Kroll

The Vine and HQ Media co-founder died at 34 in December of a suspected drug overdose.

Vinnie Paul

The Pantera drummer died at his Las Vegas home at age 54 of dilated cardiomyopathy and coronary artery disease in June.

Avicii

The Swedish DJ died by suicide at age 28 in April following a years-long struggle with depression as well as drug and alcohol addiction.

Stephen Hawking

The famous theoretical cosmologist and physicist passed away in March as a result of difficulties from ALS at 76.

XXXTentacion

The “SAD!” rapper was assassinated in his home state of Florida at age 20 in June.

Anthony Bourdain

The celebrity chef died at age 61 by suicide after he was discovered inside his room at Le Chambard in France.

Burt Reynolds

The renowned actor of Boogie Nights stardom died of a heart attack at age 81 in September.

Roy Clark

The country star passed away due to complications of pneumonia at age 85 in November.

Ursula K. Le Guin

The award-winning science fiction and fantasy novelist died at 88 at her Portland, Oregon home in January.

Charlotte Rae

The actress of Diff’rent Strokes fame died of cardiac arrest in August at age 92.
