DUI

On February 28th at around 12:45 a.m., police observed a vehicle parked in the middle of an onramp at the intersection of E. Catron Boulevard and Cambell Street. Police observed that the vehicle was not running and the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Shane Ryan of Keystone, was slumped over in his seat. After waking Ryan up and confirming that Ryan was not experiencing a medical issue, police began conducting a DUI investigation. The investigation determined that Ryan was too impaired to be driving, and police placed Ryan under arrest for DUI. A search of the vehicle turned up a burnt spoon with residue which field tested positive for heroin. Ryan was also placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ryan was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
