Suzanne Tenner/FX Networks(LOS ANGELES) — There have been a handful of teasers and promos so far for American Horror Story: Hotel, with a couple featuring glimpses of Lady Gaga’s character, the Countess. But a brand-new teaser is all about the character, giving us the longest, closest look at her yet.
The thirty-second promo, titled “Above and Below,” is pretty much a Lady Gaga video. It begins with her emerging from an old-school hotel elevator into a bright corridor, clad in a glamorous white gown and the character’s already familiar silver gauntlet. From there it features multiple shots of Gaga in at least four costumes, and jumps back and fourth from the bright, old-school setting to a sleek, dark, modern hotel corridor and elevators. All the while the images jump from bright to dark as well, with Gaga surrounded by bizarre, creepy characters, some of which we’ve already seen in previous teases.
The promo’s set to the song “Du Hast,” by German metal band Rammstein, which you might remember was also featured in 1999’s The Matrix.
“Let the Countdown Begin,” Gaga tweeted, including emoji of lips and a knife, and the hashtags #AHSHotel #3weeks. She signed the tweet “The Countess” and linked to the promo on YouTube.
American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, October 7 on FX.
