Sony LegacyCMT is celebrating Johnny Cash Week starting September 8 to mark the 12th anniversary of The Man in Black’s death. It all starts with a screening of the Oscar-winning Cash bio pic Walk the Line Tuesday, September 8. Kid Rock will host the week of programming, which also includes a special Cash edition of the CMT Hot 20 Countdown on Saturday, September 12 at 9 a.m. ET.
The celebration will close out with the premiere of the new documentary Johnny Cash: American Rebel, on Saturday, September 12 at 9 p.m. ET. As previously reported, Johnny’s children, John Carter Cash and Rosanne Cash, are interviewed in the new doc, along with Eric Church, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and others.
