Responsible Dog Owner Day is a dog friendly – one day event to raise funds for Hobo’s healing Heart. It will be held at Hermann Park in Belle Fourche, SD. We are a South Dakota chartered 501c3 nonprofit that aids pet owners who are experiencing financial hardship with emergency veterinary care and diagnostic testing costs. We will have a variety of vendors, Auction Items, Raffles, Goodie Bags, a K9 Search & Rescue and Bite Dog Demo by theWolfpack Working Dogs from Lead, Canine CPR Demonstrations byEmergency Action & Rescue Services from Spearfish, Microchipping byWestern Hills Humane Society, Live Music by Six Mile Road from Spearfish, Face Painting by LkCreations from Sundance, a Bounce House for the kiddos, and much more!
Entry to the event is FREE with a signed Liability Waiver, a link to fill a waive out before you arrive is located on our website under the Events tab. Make sure to print it out and bring it with you. We are asking folks to bring an item off the Western Hills Humane Society Society’s Wish Life: CAT SUPPLIES: Toys, Cat litter, Canned / Dry adult cat and kitten food (pâté style), Kitten play tents; DOG SUPPLIES: Chew toys, Canned / Dry dog and puppy food; KENNEL SUPPLIES: Paper towels, New or gently-used blankets, Bath size towels, Liquid high efficiency laundry soap, Bleach, Dish soap, Dryer sheets
Please Note:
All participants at Responsible Dog Owner Day are expected to practice responsible pet ownership and clean up after your canine (bags provided). Failure to clean up after your pet will result in immediate removal from the event. Pets should be kept under control at all times; any unruly participants will be asked to leave. Pets must be wearing a collar with proper ID at all times. All pets MUST be kept on a leash – no longer than six (6) feet – or in a pet-friendly enclosure (strollers, etc.) Cats are not allowed. Please no retractable leashes. For the security of both our two- and four-legged attendees, pets must be up-to-date on all their vaccines. No dogs in any stage of heat may participate. No puppies under four months of age may attend. Water for dogs is served community style; if you dog requires a separate drinking container, please bring your own, otherwise you may purchase one with proceeds going to Hobo’s Healing Heart. No children 12 and under are permitted to participate without an adult. For all participant’s safety, no bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, or roller skates are allowed. If your pet gets nervous around large crowds or does not interact well with people or other pets, is not a social pet, please leave your pet home.
