Sunday Afternoon @ the Movies: “Wonderstruck”

July 22, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

Bring the family to the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) Sunday, July 22 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. and enjoy an afternoon at the movies.

Based on the novel “Wonderstruck” by Brian Selznick, this 2017 film starring Millicent Simmonds and Julianne Moore intertwines the stories of two deaf children from different eras; a young boy in the Midwest and a young girl in New York from 50 years ago. Both children travel to New York City seeking the same mysterious connection.

Mirroring the book where Ben’s story is in words and in color while Rose’s story unfolds in beautifully detailed black and white illustrations, Ben’s story is filmed in color and Rose’s is filmed in black and white.

This film is rated PG. Popcorn and beverages will be served.
