The City of Rapid City and My City Bikes is hosting the annual Life Is A Cyle event Saturday at Founders Park at 10 a.m.
Registration is $10 and interested participants can register at lifeisacycle.bike or at the event.
Life Is A Cycle is an outdoor group fitness event open to bicycle enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels and promotes biking for transportation. The Rapid City event ride is 6.78 miles and participants will ride on local street route including Mountain View Road, Jackson Boulevard, Canyon Lake Drive and other areas. Organizers indicate the event is a great way to experience bicycle commuting firsthand.
“The Life Is A Cycle event brings bikers of various ages and experience levels together to enjoy bicycle commuting and it’s a great way to enjoy our community,” said Kip Harrington, City Long-Range Planner. “It’s an entirely different experience seeing your community from a bicycle. The event promotes biking as a great form of transportation, recreation and commuting.”
The Life Is A Cycle Event culminates a month of bicycle events in Rapid City, including Bike to School Day on May 9 and Bike to Work Week on May 18.
