Meet South Dakota State University senior civil engineering student Lorenzo Romero and learn about Engineers Without Borders, Sunday, July 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs). In a world where more than two billion people lack access to even the most basic necessities, Engineers Without Borders strives to lead the change around the world, one community at a time. Romero’s group works on a chlorination and sand filtration system to provide the residents of Carmen Pampa, Bolivia with clean drinking water. They also educate the community about clean water and how to maintain the system once it is in place.
