A unique fashion show highlighting jewelry made from minerals and fossils as well as pageant-wear from the Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen pageants will dazzle Hot Springs on Saturday February 10.
CSR Designs has teamed up with the Miss South Dakota Scholarship Foundation to showcase unique pieces of jewelry made from minerals and fossils from around the world. Miss South Dakota 2017 Miranda Mack and Miss South Dakota’s Outstanding Teen 2017 Elizabeth Nesland will be walking the runway, modeling CSR accessories as well as fashions they wore to compete at the national pageants. Titleholders from across South Dakota will join them, in selected outfits featuring mineral and fossil jewelry.
A social hour with heavy appetizers and a cash bar will begin at 5 p.m. with the fashion show starting at 6 p.m. Paleontologist Frank Garcia will discuss fossils, the large ice age find that made him famous, and the tylosaur he recently found near Edgemont, SD. CSR Designs will also be announcing their “Dino Smiles” project.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Miss SD Scholarship Foundation scholarship fund. Tickets can be purchased at www.MissSD.org via PayPal, for will-call pickup, or at the Mueller Civic Center in Hot Springs. Tickets are $50 for adults, children 12 and under $25.
