During The Bobby Bones Show, a voicemail is played from a listener named David in Baxter, Tennessee. David says he saw Lunchbox on News Channel 5 talking about snow and wanted to let the show know. So as it turns out, he did make the news!
Lunchbox shared the other day that he was interviewed by a news reporter and that the clip did end up being aired on television. He says his name was not shown on screen, even though the reporter’s name and the name of another woman who appeared later were included. Lunchbox jokes that his name was left off because people already know who he is. Others on the show point out that he may not have given his real name and instead said his name was Lunchbox, and she probably thought he was joking. In the news clip, a reporter discusses winter weather and uncertainty around snow forecasts in the South. Lunchbox is shown talking about checking weather forecasts through apps, feeds, and family messages, and mentions that people are predicting up to 20 inches of snow, though he does not believe that will happen. The segment includes commentary about the storm system bringing cold air and moisture across southern states.
The show had some thoughts on how Lunchbox appeared on screen. He was shown wearing a knit cap and hoodie, and it looked like part of the logo on his shirt appeared to be blurred. He was wearing a Sore Losers sweatshirt that promotes his podcast but “Losers” looked like it was blurred out. Lunchbox added that he is disappointed that one of his comments about “Let It SNOW!” was not used, as he thought it would be the main sound bite. The hosts agree they expected that part to air. They also note that he appeared multiple times throughout the segment.
Listener Jared also called in to say he recognized Lunchbox when the camera panned back to him and thought he did well, though he was quieter than he usually is on the radio.
