Breaking news was announced when Lunchbox revealed he made the news!
The Bobby Bones Show crew all reacting saying it seemed like a dream scenario for him. Lunchbox explained that a snowstorm is expected to come to Nashville, and the news crew was looking for energetic people to talk about it. He said he was at the dog park when they approached him and asked if he would be willing to talk about how he gets his weather information and how he was preparing for the snowstorm.
When asked if Lunchbox went up to the news crew or if they came to him, Lunchbox said they came to him. But added that another person nearby declined the interview, so Lunchbox immediately volunteered himself to do it. He brought audio he had taken of the interview. At first, it appeared to be a 67-second news clip featuring only him, which led to excitement and comments about how big of a deal that would be and how someone could get discovered from that.
Lunchbox was heard being asked what his weather app was saying. He responded that it said snow, with an 80% chance on Saturday, adding that it was very cold. When asked where he usually gets his weather information, he said either from his wife or from his phone and that he goes by whatever it says. When asked if it’s usually accurate, he said no, never. During the playback, it became clear that what they were hearing wasn’t the news broadcast itself but Lunchbox recording the moment on his phone. The show realized he hadn’t actually aired yet. Lunchbox confirmed that the segment was scheduled to air that night at 10 o’clock, but he didn’t know yet if he would make the final cut.
Lunchbox shared that his kids were with him at the dog park during the interview and kept running into the shot, yelling and trying to be seen. Everyone thought that was ironic as his kids are just like him. Lunchbox said it made him smile but admitted that was his main concern, that the kids yelling might prevent the clip from being used. The show also noted that his dog was whining during the interview because it was leashed and they had been about to leave when the news crew arrived. Lunchbox joked that he had to stay because he couldn’t leave once the interview started.
When asked again if he had officially made the news, Lunchbox said not yet, but he believed he would be the lead of the story. He explained that his opening line, “Snow. Snow. Let it snow,” was strong and said if he were producing the segment, he would lead with that line and nothing else. He added that the reporters probably wanted people to praise their weather apps, but instead he said they’re wrong all the time.
