Bobby Bones is extremely stressed because he is getting honored with an award from his home state in Arkansas, but he has to raise money from sponsors to donate towards it.
Some people who have won the award include the former Governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson and the athletic director at the University of Arkansas. Bones is very proud he is getting the award and hopes he has changed some lives there and can continue to change more.
But he is nervous because when you get the award, you’re supposed to say how much money you’ve raised for the non-profit it supports. He needs to raise around $50,000. They asked him to recommend sponsors that they will ask to sponsor the event. Which now makes him nervous and almost does not want to accept the award because he hates asking people for stuff. He doesn’t want people to think they have to do something, even though there are people who are willing to help. He would donate his own money, but then that’s like paying for his own award, which he has a problem with. He is going to try and figure out what the plan is in the next few days because he can’t leave them hanging!
