Brett Eldredge has returned after 2 years with three brand new songs and details on his next album. He shared “Gabrielle,” “Where The Heart Is” and “Crowd My Mind” — giving fans a glimpse into his forthcoming new album, Sunday Drive (due out in July). Eldredge shared on The Bobby Bones Show the story behind the single “Gabrielle” as well as what he’s been spending his time doing in quarantine.
“Gabrielle” is definitely a real story about a girl in his life, however, Eldredge says her name isn’t Gabrielle. He says he wanted to write a song about those relationships that didn’t work out, but we wish they would have. The girl in this story though, doesn’t know about the song. Eldredge confessed he didn’t send it to her and even if she hears it organically, he’s not sure he would tell her it was about her.
Outside of the surprise big new music drop, Eldredge has been really busy in his quarantine. He is back on social media, but now he has limits for it. He says he will only spend an hour a day on the apps on his phone, then he gets kicked out. He spent his quarantined birthday with his brother and sister-in-law eating breakfast for dinner, which included omelets and peanut butter pancakes. They topped off the night by watching Ozark on Netflix. But that’s not all, Eldredge hasn’t just been playing video games and his instruments while in quarantine, he’s also been training. He wanted to have something to strive for during all of this so he decided to do long distance running and train for a half marathon. He’s hoping after all of this quarantine is over he can be ready to do a real half marathon.
