RAPID CITY'S #1 FOR NEW COUNTRY KICK 104

At around 3:30 p.m. on October 14th, police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Racine Street for multiple reports of several gunshots being fired in the area. On arrival, police started making contact with witnesses who stated they heard several shots fired and observed a black passenger car leaving the area at a high rate of speed. As police worked to investigate the incident, they were approached by another witness who pointed out a black passenger car that had just pulled into the parking lot at 1701 Downing Street. Police made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and identified them as four juveniles. They were all detained, and a search of the vehicle turned up shell casings matching those recovered from the initial scene. Police also determined the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the afternoon. During the course of the investigation, police received no information to indicate that anyone had been hurt by the gunfire. As the suspects are juveniles, I cannot disclose their identities or charges in relation to the incident. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the gunshots.
