Black Hills Community Theatre continues its 51st season with the classic drama Macbeth. Heroic Macbeth has just won two victorious battles for Scotland, when he encounters three weird sisters, who tell him this is only the beginning of his path to glory. William Shakespeare’s Macbeth reveals to us the danger of ambition, crafting a terrifying parable in which great people are destroyed by the power of their own success.
Macbeth is directed by Merlyn Q. Sell. She has an MFA and MLITT in Shakespeare Performance from Mary Baldwin College, and has directed numerous Shakespeare productions in the past. She made her Rapid City directing debut last spring with Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage at BHCT. The cast of 14 local performers includes BHCT Artist Director Zach Curtis in the title role and Marcia Kahler as Lady Macbeth with Jason Knox, Jeffery Alan Smith, Ryan Puffer, Leslie Villa, Tae Swanson, Dave DeChristopher, Jeanette Pitts, Lacy Thormahlen, Larry Bolman, Amalia Hertel and David Andrews.
