STAR_Net – Explore Tech Exhibit: Family Opening Day

June 3, 2018 @ 1:30 am - 4:30 pm

You’re invited to our “Explore Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference” Exhibit Family Opening Day on Sunday, June 3 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, main floor). Try our Balancing Hex Nut Challenge, create a paper wind turbine, become human conductors of electricity with Energy Sticks and challenge yourself with provided building materials for Project Egg Drop. Then we will head outside where the Rapid City Fire Department will drop each egg build from a fire truck ladder!

The Explore Tech exhibit will be at Rapid City Public Library May 30 through July 27. Children and adults alike will enjoy exploring technology through interactive displays, engineering challenges and a maker table encouraging imaginative play. We are one of fourteen libraries nationwide hosting the exhibit, which is supported by STAR_Net (Science-Technology Activities and Resources for libraries, a production of the National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute, the American Library Association, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, the Afterschool Alliance and the National Science Foundation.).
