UPS worker Trenton Lewis has been waking up at midnight in Little Rock, Arkansas so that he could walk to work, for five miles, for his 4 A.M. shift loading trucks.
Lewis didn’t have a car, but he told ABC affiliate KATV he was doing it for his daughter,
“I knew I had to step up. I didn’t have a job when she was born.”
Then UPS co-workers Patricia and Kenneth Bryant found out about the long walk to work every day, they wanted to help. The Bryants collected donations from other workers and bought Lewis a car.
“He brought them to me and my heart just dropped,” Lewis said. “This can’t be real.”
Trenton now leaves for work at 3:30 a.m., he said, allowing him sleep in and give his legs a break.
