Charles Kelly Reflects On A Sad Bus Ride From Georgia

A little more than a week has passed since Charles Kelly of Lady Antebellum‘s favorite team, the University of Georgia’s Bulldogs, were snuffed out by the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide in overtime during the college football championship.
Charles and fellow Georgia boys Dave Haywood, Thomas Rhett and Jason Aldean took a bus to the game. Their hopes were high on the way to Atlanta, but Charles admits the ride home was pretty brutal.
“We didn’t say many words to each other. Actually, Jason played me some of his new record which was a nice distraction. He said, ‘I got a couple of songs I want to play you.’ I said, “Just play me everything. I’ve got to think about anything but what just happened to our team.'”
In a couple of weeks, Charles and Dave will head to New York City, where they hope to collect two Grammys.
