On August 20th around 1:10 a.m., an officer was driving along Main Street when he observed several people in a physical struggle on the sidewalk at the intersection of Mt. Rushmore Road and Main Street. The officer observed a male subject holding a wooden board (later identified as 23-year-old Alhassan Murayhof El Paso, TX) as he was being restrained by two other individuals yelling for assistance. The officer exited his vehicle and Murayh began to run east. The officer pursued on foot and was able to detain Murayh at Taser-point in the 500 block of 7th Street. An assisting officer arrived and Murayh was placed under arrest for Obstruction and Disorderly Conduct before being transported to the Pennington County Jail.
