Bobby Shares if He Got His Wife a Push Present After Birth

A listener asked what Bobby got his wife as a push present after the birth of their baby, saying she had seen women on TikTok receiving gifts after childbirth and was curious if he had done the same.

Bobby has not gotten her a push present and felt that it is something people often do for the Internet so others can see. He explained that if his wife wants something, he will get it for her, but they have been overwhelmed and focused on the baby. He mentioned that his birthday is coming up and joked that the next week is about him. Bobby’s wife told him she had already given him his birthday present, their baby Billie, and handed the baby to him as a joke. He may still get her something but emphasized that his wife does not care about being featured on social media and often does not want to participate in his posts.

Eddie said he had never heard of a push present before the voicemail of that listener. Bobby added that he does not want to say he will not get one, but he simply has not had the time or space to think about it, as he is constantly helping with the baby whenever he has a few free minutes. A second listener congratulated Bobby and Caitlin on their baby and asked why Bobby often refers to Billie as “the baby” instead of using her name. Bobby explained that if he only said Billie, some of the audience might not know who he is referring to, since not everyone listens to every show. He said he mixes it up by sometimes saying Billie, Baby Billie, or just “the baby.” He also shared that they had previously tried not to reveal the baby’s sex, so they became used to speaking more generally. He added that Billie is a unisex name, which can create additional confusion for listeners.

A third listener brought up Eddie admitting he was a bad dad early on because he avoided changing diapers and would act like he did not smell them, leaving it for his wife when she got home. Eddie admitted he was slow to mature as a dad and said he could not stand the smell of diapers at first. He compared it to doing laundry, saying it was the one chore he did not want to do. He confirmed that if his wife was gone, he would sometimes ignore it and wait. Others on the show reacted with shock, saying that was crazy and pointing out that many men may relate to that behavior. Eddie acknowledged it was immature and said he grew out of it. He shared that when they adopted their youngest child, he changed many diapers. The show encouraged listeners to grow up from that kind of behavior, noting how important it is to step up as a parent. Eddie admitted that sometimes the baby would be left with a dirty diaper for up to two hours, which led to bad diaper rash.
