The Bobby Bones Show shared listener voicemails, starting with a listener accusing Lunchbox of cheating during games.
The caller questioned how Lunchbox, who often claims he doesn’t know artists or pop culture, manages to win so frequently. Lunchbox denied cheating, saying he doesn’t win as much as people think and that cheating isn’t fun for him. Bobby and Eddie pushed back, saying Lunchbox would cheat if he could, but Lunchbox insisted he doesn’t because everyone can see him during the games.
Another voicemail asked where Bobby would be during Super Bowl festivities. Bobby explained he would not attend the actual game. His sports podcast team would travel Thursday and Friday for work-related events that require credentials and are not open to the public. Bobby shared that the one public event he would attend is The Dozen Trivia live show on Thursday at 6:00 PM at The Fillmore in San Francisco. He noted doors open at 5:00 PM and mentioned the event includes teams from the trivia league and celebrity guests.
A listener followed up on whether Amy went to Los Angeles to try out for The Price Is Right. Amy said she did not go for that reason and confirmed it did not happen. Bobby added that Lunchbox did attend The Price Is Right but did not make it onto the show, though he will appear in the audience during episodes airing around late March and early April.
Another voicemail came from a listener in Austin, Texas, sharing encouragement for Nashville and mentioning Austin Energy crews traveling to help restore power. Bobby thanked line workers and discussed the ongoing power outages. Bobby said he was without power for three days, while Amy went without power for several more days. Lunchbox said his power was out for 27 hours, though parts of his neighborhood still don’t have electricity. Bobby and Eddie joked that Lunchbox was taking credit for outages affecting nearby blocks. It was also mentioned that Lunchbox still does not have Wi-Fi or cable. Eddie or Mike never lost power. Amy saw high school-aged girls handing out bags, likely snacks or baked goods, to line workers, and noted how cold the conditions were for crews working outside despite overtime pay.
Another voicemail addressed how stressed a listener felt hearing about the show members having unread messages. Lunchbox and Eddie said they don’t feel stressed by unread notifications and find it easier to leave messages unopened. Bobby explained that if something is important, people usually follow up.
The final voicemail asked about a past caller who claimed to be a secret billionaire with a second life. Bobby said the show does not use fake callers or actors, unlike other radio shows, and that the caller was convincing enough that it seemed possibly real. Eddie said he never believed it, while Lunchbox said he was excluded from the invite because he doubted the story. Bobby said if it had been real, they would likely have more answers, but they never heard from the caller again.
