RAPID CITY'S #1 FOR NEW COUNTRY KICK 104

A Moment of Silence for Lunchbox’s Car

The Bobby Bones Show got an update from Lunchbox about his car after being involved in a serious accident. He had been stopped on the interstate when another driver going around 60 miles per hour hit him. While the accident itself was serious, one detail that stood out was that his smoothie exploded inside the car during the crash.

Lunchbox’s car had been in the shop, and he was called in to talk about the damage. When he arrived, he was told the car was a total loss. The shop explained that the vehicle would either be salvaged or scrapped. The car, a 2018 model, was officially gone. The insurance company planned to give him around $24,000 for the car. He explained that while it was a decent amount, it wouldn’t be enough to buy a brand-new vehicle. He also shared that he was given the option to keep the car for $14,000, but didn’t see the point in holding onto a totaled vehicle just to sell it for parts.

The conversation turned more sentimental when Lunchbox explained that the car held family memories. He and his wife bought it when they were planning to start a family, and shortly after purchasing it, she became pregnant. All three of their kids were brought home from the hospital in that car. Despite the car being declared totaled, Lunchbox had continued driving it for a while after the accident, which surprised everyone. The group discussed how insurance determines a total loss, explaining that it happens when the cost of repairs exceeds the value of the vehicle.

Lunchbox also shared how the accident affected him physically and mentally. His back still tightens up randomly, something that never happened before the crash. He mentioned that even hearing certain words related to the accident triggers a reaction and that he plans to see a chiropractor.

As for what comes next, Lunchbox said they haven’t decided on a new car yet. Since it was technically his wife’s car, the decision is still up in the air. The rental car won’t be available much longer, which adds pressure to make a decision soon. Lunchbox also mentioned that he often rides his bike to work after his Nissan Altima kicked the bucket years ago, making the situation even more complicated.
