Bobby Practices Diaper Changes Ahead of Baby’s Arrival

Bobby recently got a baby doll and started practicing diaper changes. He shared a picture of it online, and surprisingly, some people thought it was a real baby.

The diaper changes went pretty well. Bobby joked that as long as the baby doesn’t kick, he’s fine. Since it was a doll, there was no wiping involved, but he still wanted to learn the proper technique. Before practicing, he watched YouTube videos and learned how to hold a baby’s feet with one hand, thumb placed in the middle, to prevent kicking. From there, he learned to lift the baby slightly and slide a clean diaper underneath the dirty one before removing it. That way, if there’s a blowout, it lands on the clean diaper instead of the table. Both diapers can then be thrown away. Bobby credited the internet for that trick. He practiced removing the dirty diaper, fastening it, and making sure the edges of the clean diaper were positioned correctly, with the sticky sides out. He said those details matter. In total, Bobby estimated he practiced around 20 diaper changes.

While discussing diaper changes, Eddie admitted he didn’t change many diapers with his first two children. Although he has said before that he didn’t change any, he admitted that wasn’t entirely true. Realistically, he changed about 15 to 20 total between both kids. His wife usually handled it because she often got to it first. Eddie also admitted there were times he pretended not to smell a dirty diaper, even when it was obvious. His wife would call him out, and she’d end up changing it herself. Eventually, she stopped waiting and just took care of it.

When Bobby posted the photo of the doll on Instagram, some people thought he was announcing the baby had already arrived. He pointed out that it was clearly a doll, noting its overly happy expression and a full head of hair. In addition to diaper changes, Bobby practiced swaddling and said he was really good at it. Swaddling was always Eddie’s strength when his kids were babies, and his wife would often ask him to do it. The part he never got used to, however, was the smell of dirty diapers. He said people claim you eventually stop noticing it, but that never happened for him. Bobby has also been learning new things about pregnancy. He recently wondered why a baby’s blood doesn’t rush to their head when they’re upside down in the womb. He guessed it was because the baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid, making gravity less of a factor. That explanation turned out to be correct. In liquid, blood flow isn’t affected the same way it is when hanging upside down in air. He also learned that not all babies are positioned head-down before birth. When a baby is breech, it can create complications and may require a C-section.

Between practicing diaper techniques, mastering swaddling, and learning how gravity works in the womb, Bobby admitted he’s fully immersed in baby world right now.
