RAPID CITY'S #1 FOR NEW COUNTRY KICK 104

Our Most Random Wins From Trips to Sandwiches

A story was shared on The Bobby Bones Show about a woman who entered a charity raffle despite her husband repeatedly telling her to stop entering what he called “stupid contests.” She paid $30 to enter and ended up winning a house on a lake valued at approximately $6 million, along with more than $300,000 in cash.

The woman admitted that she had been entering the raffle for four years while her husband complained about it for those same four years, and now they were millionaires. She said she was glad she didn’t listen to him and joked that he should be glad she doesn’t listen to him either. The couple said they hadn’t decided what they would do long term, but planned to enjoy the win. They also mentioned receiving the $300,000 in cash, which would allow them to stay there and not worry about anything for many years.

The conversation then shifted to whether anyone in the room had ever won anything randomly. Eddie shared that he once won a fishing trip through a church raffle, which allowed him to catch catfish on private property. He said he caught around 20 fish and had a great experience. He explained that people had a week to enter the raffle, and the winners were announced by name during church, adding that hearing your name called was the best feeling. Morgan shared that during her freshman year of college, she won free sandwiches for a year after entering a raffle at freshman orientation. She said there was a limit of two sandwiches per week, but she used it almost every week throughout her freshman year. Lunchbox won two round-trip airline tickets on Southwest Airlines while he was in college. He said the raffle was held in one of his classes, and two weeks later he found out he had won. He used the tickets to go to Las Vegas for the first time when he was 21 and said it as an unforgettable experience.

Bobby and Amy didn’t think they had ever won anything randomly. Scuba Steve mentioned winning a gift basket with bread and wine at a birthday party during an axe-throwing event, but admitted it wasn’t anything significant.
