Bobby and Amy opened up about the things on their minds lately.
It all started when Amy shared a DM she received from a listener asking if she was “worried about her job.” No explanation, no context, just a casual message that immediately made her wonder if she was supposed to know something she didn’t. She wasn’t worried before the DM, but after reading it? Hard not to think about it. The listener claimed they knew someone at one of our affiliate stations and maybe heard something, but either way, Bobby assured her she absolutely did not need to worry about her job. Still, it’s a wild thing to send someone out of the blue.
From there, things shifted to something a little lighter: left-handed superpowers. Bobby, being left-handed himself, proudly ran through a list of all the traits lefties supposedly have: better at reading faces, faster reflexes, independent thinkers, strong conversational memory, more spatial awareness, naturally competitive, and supposedly better at multitasking because their brains connect both sides more efficiently. And, fun fact, a higher percentage of U.S. presidents have been left-handed compared to the general population. Ray added that he’s a twin and his brother is left-handed although Ray isn’t, which apparently is a real phenomenon among twins. So if you’re left-handed, congratulations, you’re basically a superhero according to this list.
Then Amy brought up another mystery: her birthday on Facebook somehow changed to December 5th. She didn’t change it, didn’t even know it had changed until she started getting “Happy Birthday!” texts from friends, including people who definitely should’ve known better. Now she’s trying to figure out if she was hacked or if Facebook just did what Facebook does sometimes. Nothing else on her account looks tampered with, so the whole thing is still bizarre and unexplained.
Somehow the conversation then detoured into UFOs after a man described seeing glowing orbs that changed colors, merged together, disappeared, and moved without any heat signature. Bobby is deep into a new UFO documentary and swears if you watch it without distractions, it’ll blow your mind. Morgan even went viral once for a UFO she spotted at Disney. So really, who knows what’s out there.
And finally, thanks to a random TikTok, Amy can’t stop thinking about whether people should wash their hands before unloading the dishwasher. She’d never thought about it before, and honestly, none of us had. Now it suddenly feels gross not to, because you’re touching clean plates with questionable hands. That led to Bobby admitting he doesn’t always load the dishwasher because his wife puts things in places he considers “wrong,” like mixing utensils or placing knives pointing up, which is a hazard if you reach in without looking. Meanwhile, he’ll rinse a dish and just leave it in the sink instead of putting it into the dishwasher that’s five inches away, something his wife definitely doesn’t celebrate.
To wrap things up, Bobby quickly addressed the bandaid on his hand: no injury, no drama, just a hangnail he’s covering so he won’t pick at it. He gets them because he bites his nails, usually when he’s stressed during close games. Hangnails, UFOs, random Facebook hacks, and unsolicited job anxiety. Just another day of the most random thoughts taking over our brains.
