Bobby and his wife finally went out for a date night, something that hasn’t happened in a while since she hasn’t been feeling well during her pregnancy. She’s been staying close to home, but this week she finally felt good enough to go out for dinner.
At the beginning of her pregnancy, she had a tough time. Bobby shared that she was so sick early on that the acid from her stomach was actually creating holes in her mouth. Thankfully, she’s been feeling much better recently, and this dinner out felt like a big step forward. When it came to picking a place, though, things got tricky. His wife can’t have raw fish or meats, and with Bobby’s own food restrictions, the menu didn’t leave many options, they narrowed it down to about three things they could both eat. But they made it work! They even ended the night with ice cream, though Bobby had to go with the vegan kind.
During the drive, they listened to Switchfoot together, one of the few bands his wife could listen to growing up since she was only allowed Christian music. Switchfoot was one of those crossover groups that made it okay. Bobby’s been into Alanis Morissette lately and mentioned she just announced a Las Vegas residency. He’d love to go see her live, but the only thing holding him back is… he doesn’t really want to go anywhere.
All in all, Bobby said it was a great night. And to top it all off, he even slept upstairs afterward so his wife could get a full night’s rest.

- Eddie said success is just getting out of the house. Sometimes he and his wife pick a restaurant, but end up driving around just talking instead of actually going in.
- Lunchbox said it’s all about going somewhere quiet where they can really talk. But with babysitters now costing around $22 an hour, it makes you think twice about date night.
- Amy shared that since she and her partner both have kids, planning takes effort. He usually surprises her by making a reservation, she’ll just get a text with the reservation, and that’s how she knows a date night is on the way.
