Bobby Bones shared a list on his Instagram of artists that are “different” and some of the best he’s seen perform live in the Bobby Bones Show studio.
Ashley McBryde was first noted sharing she “emotes with every note” and “can take it easy or sing you soft.” Ben Rector was next, Bones noted “his music acumen is unparalleled and he sings with an intensity up close that you wouldn’t expect.” Then it was Red Clay Strays with a note of “save some soul for the other people with guitars. they play, you want more.”
Jo Dee Messina was another one, Bones said “still got it. Actually has it more than most singers that were listening to her as kids.” Tenille Townes is the only artist to ever make Bones cry during a performance in the studio, he noted “she is like a smelling salt if you haven’t felt in a while.”
Regardless of hits, streams, and ticket sales, Bones said when Luke Combs sings “it feels like a rocket being launched” and noted he has “crazy classic type singing range.” Chris Stapleton was the last one noted, Bones said “You want a whisper? You want a growl? You want it straightforward? You want it sang perfectly and reckless at the same time? ok.”
