TMSG: Mailman Delivers Essential Supplies To Elderly On His Route

Ohio mailman Kyle West has become more than just a mailman to hundreds of customers on his daily route.
The essential worker came up with an idea on how he could help on the elderly on his route after one of them approached him. The man asked West if he could please get him some toilet paper. After that interaction, West realized there were several elderly on his route that probably needed supplies and couldn’t get out to get it.

He sent a note out to all of his customers on his daily route that read: “If you are at risk and need help getting essentials, let me know. I will do what I can to help.” The note was signed ‘Mailman Kyle’ along with his phone number. Of the nearly 400 notes he sent out, he received responses from almost every person. Many asked for essential items like milk and toilet paper, while others just wanted a simple conversation because its the only in-person interaction they get.
Although he’s been going out of his way to run errands, West doesn’t want anything in return from his customers. Just wants everyone to be safe and abide by the social distancing rules to keep him and other mail carriers safe.
