Another awards show is happening tonight, and as always I’m looking forward to all the performances and the stories that are going to come out tomorrow about the late night parties and who ran into who out and about. Now is the time though, to reveal my picks for the winners this year.
Male Vocalist of the Year: Luke Combs– He’s had a massive year with hit after hit and from what I’ve heard he puts on one heck of a live show. He’s newer to the industry but has made himself a household name. Second choice, gotta go with Chris Stapleton, because it’s Chris Stapleton.
Female Vocalist of the Year: Maren Morris– This was a tough category, as they all are, but Maren has had a huge year with an amazing album, she’s got the win. Carrie was a close second. 😉
Vocal Group of the Year- Midland– I mean as a Midlandero they have to win, and they should win. They have an incredible energy when it comes to performing, personalities that are priceless and their latest album, “Let It Roll” is solid gold! Let’s go Gator Boys! Second choice, Little Big Town.
Vocal Duo of the Year- Dan + Shay– It’s in the bag, their name has been printed on that award for awhile now, let’s be honest. My second choice in this category is Brothers Osborne.
New Artist of the Year- Midland– Do I need to explain…I love those Gator Boys. Second choice which would be well deserved, Ashley McBryde, this chick can sing!
Album of the Year- “Dan + Shay” – Dan + Shay– You can’t stop a train that’s at full steam, and these boys have plenty of gas on this album. Second choice- “Desperate Man”- Eric Church- This album is one of my Top 5 from 2019.
Single of the Year- “Millionaire”- Chris Stapleton– It’s a phenomenal song, produced by some of the best in the industry, then theres the man, the legend Chris Stapleton who sings it, you can’t go wrong with this song at “Single Of The Year.” Second choice- “Speechless” by Dan + Shay.
Song of the Year- “Beautiful Crazy”- Luke Combs– Amazing song by a talented artist. Like I mentioned earlier, Luke has made his mark in country music and his career has only begun. Second choice- “Rainbow” Kacey Musgraves
Musical Event of the Year- “Brand New Man”- Brooks & Dunn with Luke Combs…just read those names again, that is why this will be the Musical Event of the Year. Second choice- “Dive Bar” – Garth Brooks & Blake Shelton- read those names again, enough said.
Music Video of the Year- “God’s Country”- Blake Shelton– I really dig this music video and the lyrics, so fingers crossed Blake takes the trophy. Second choice- “Rainbow”- Kacey Musgraves- Such a beautiful message with some strong lyrics.
Entertainer of the Year- Garth Brooks– Why wouldn’t he, I mean he started a stadium tour, played in dive bars and keeps throwing out new tunes left and right…I said he would win when the nominations came out and I stand by my choice. Second choice would go to Eric Church, his double down tour says it all.
Overall, the competition is intense, but my big winner of the night with the most awards goes to Luke Combs….we will see how my picks do and I’ll be sure to follow up with my Top 5 moments of the night!
