A Planet Fitness worker acted quick to save a mans life when he collapsed during his workout. Ian Palmer, was sitting at the front desk selling lotion to another customer when someone ran up to him saying a man had collapsed on a cardio machine.
“As I got closer, I noticed the man was laying down and that did not look good,” Palmer told CBS Boston, “Someone reminded me to grab the AED.”
He says the automated external defibrillator had instructions that walk employees through the process. Palmer and an off-duty nurse began administering CPR while someone called 9-1-1.
Paramedics said Palmer’s quick thinking and the help of the off-duty nurse saved the man’s life.
