Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department, responded to a reported fire in a hay yard at 8044 Norman Ave, Black Hawk South Dakota
First arriving Black Hawk Volunteer Firefighters found a fire burning in approximately 70,- “big round” bales of hay, with a moderate smoke conditions.
Firefighters working with local ranchers confined the fire to approximately a 1.5 acre area, stopping the spread of the fire to additional bales of hay in the yard and mitigating the smoke threat to the traveling public on Interstate 90.
No injuries to civilians, firefighters, domestic or agricultural animals were reported.
