As the news broke today (Thursday) of Burt Reynolds passing, Dolly Parton quickly shared her condolences through social media.
“Oh how sad I am today along with Burt’s millions of fans around the world as we mourn one of our favorite leading men. I know we will always remember his funny laugh, the mischievous sparkle in his eyes, and his quirky sense of humor. You will always be my favorite sheriff, rest in peace my little buddy. I will always love you, Dolly”
The two were best known for their roles in the 1982 film The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Dolly played the role of a brothel hotel owner, which earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical). In the film, Dolly performed her original song “I Will Always Love You.” Dolly and Burt teamed up on singing “Sneakin’ Around” together, a song which symbolized the affair their characters were having together.
