Car-vs-Pedestrian Crash

On July 8th at around 7:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Omaha Street and Mount Rushmore Road for a report of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian in the roadway. Police arrived at the same time as a medical unit which began treating the injured pedestrian. Police began speaking to witnesses and learned that the crash had occurred after the pedestrian entered the westbound lane of Omaha to retrieve a hat. The pedestrian was struck by a westbound pickup truck. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital via ambulance to be treated for serious, non-life threatening injuries.
