The Twitter-verse may think it knows the meaning behind Blake Shelton’s now famous “karma” tweet, but the country superstar is setting the record straight.
The Voice coach tells Entertainment Tonight “people are way off the mark” with assumptions they know who the tweet is about.
“If it was meant for people to know exactly what it meant, it wouldn’t have been so cryptic,” Blake told ET on Monday (April 30). “But I can tell you it’s been, actually, very entertaining to watch the world run with it and assume what they think it’s about.”
Blake’s post in question sent the Internet into a frenzy of speculation last Wednesday with most assuming the “I Lived It” singer was addressing his 2015 divorce from Miranda Lambert.
“Been taking the high road for a long time… I almost gave up,” he wrote. “But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!”
As for reactions from fans and critics alike, Blake adds in his ET interview he doesn’t “have time to worry about it.”
Look for Blake on The Voice every Monday and Tuesday night on NBC.
