HBO’s Big Little Lies season 2 is being wildly anticipated after a huge first season of success. Cosmopolitan shared some things we absolutely need to know about the upcoming season, the biggest being that we don’t actually get season 2 until 2019. WHAT?!
Here are the top things we learned:
- We’re definitely not getting the new season in 2018. There are plans set for 2019 BUT no one has explicitly said when the show will return.
- The Monterey Mom squad is back. All of the moms – Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Zoë Kravitz, Laura Dern and Shailene Woodley, are returning for season 2 to reprise their roles on screen.
- Meryl Streep has been added to the cast as Nicole Kidman’s mother-in-law. Photos teased on Instagram already have us SO excited.
- There’s a new director. Jean-March Vallée is not returning for the next season, Andrea Arnold will be directing the new episodes. This could mean a change in several things.
- Alexander Skarsgard, who plays Perry, may or may not return in the second season. **no more details or I will spoil this!!!**
