Lauren Alaina is riding a major high in her career.
The rising country superstar claimed her first-ever ACM Award this week when host Reba McEntire personally called her to tell the “Road Less Traveled” singer she had won the 2018 New Female Vocalist of the Year trophy.
Now, Carrie Underwood has taken to social media to congratulate her fellow American Idolalum on an honor well deserved.
“I love everything about this,” Carrie captioned a re-post of Lauren’s winning moment. “Congrats, girl! [Love] you so much! I know you’re on cloud a million right now…and you should be!”
Lauren responded to Carrie’s post, writing “This made my whole day. Thank you Carrie. Love you” with a kiss-face emoji.
Joining Lauren with wins in the ACM new artist categories are Midland (ACM New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year) and Brett Young (ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year).
The 53rd Annual ACM Awards airs live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15, at 8/7c on CBS.
