Brett Young Was Almost On ‘The Voice’

Brett Young was just two days away from becoming a contestant on The Voice, but a friend changed his mind at the last minute.
Back in 2015, Brett was contacted by a talent scout for The Voice, who proceeded to offer him the opportunity to skip preliminary auditions for the show and go directly to the blind auditions in Hollywood. Two days before he was set to fly to Los Angeles, he met up with one of his friends at a bar in Nashville, asking his opinion on whether or not he should go on the show.
His friend said, “I don’t think you should go,” and Brett immediately called the talent scout to turn down the offer.
To this day, Brett says that was the scariest piece of advice he ever received, but it worked out in his favor. He signed his record deal one month later. (Variety)
