RAPID CITY'S #1 FOR NEW COUNTRY KICK 104

On April 19th at around 8:40 p.m., a patrol officer in the area of W. Omaha Street and Cross Street observed a passenger vehicle westbound on W. Omaha. The officer witnessed the vehicle fail to negotiate a curve in the road and leave the roadway before crashing into a dirt embankment. The officer made contact with the driver, identified as 34-year-old Daniel Pacheco of Rapid City, and noted his bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. During the interaction, the officer also observed a handgun on the vehicle’s floorboard. Daniel was placed under arrest for DUI. A search of Daniel’s person turned up several items, to include brass knuckles and a baggie containing a substance field testing positive for methamphetamine. Daniel was ultimately arrested for DUI, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Firearm while in Commission of a Felony. He was subsequently transported to the Pennington County Jail.
