Hunter Hayes Hopes to Break Guinness World Record

Hunter Hayes will call attention to Tuesday's (May 6) release of his new album, Storyline, by attempting to break the Guinness World Records title for the most concerts in multiple cities during a 24-hour period.

Hayes will begin the trek May 9 in New York City with an 8 a.m. performance on Good Morning America. Heading to Boston for a 9:15 a.m. set, he plans to eventually play in 10 cities along the East Coast with a revolving cast of opening acts, including Dan + Shay, Dean Alexander, the Railers, Matt Sucich andCharlie Worsham.

Theaters and clubs are booked for the whirlwind tour which will include stops in Worcester, Mass. (11:30 a.m.), Providence, R.I. (1:45 p.m.), New London, Conn. (4:15 p.m.), New Haven, Conn. (6:45 p.m.), Stamford, Conn. (9 p.m.) and South Orange, N.J. (11:30 p.m.). He'll finish the shows on May 10 with a 2 a.m. show in Asbury Park, N.J., and a 5 a.m. appearance in Philadelphia.

Hayes hopes to break the record set by the Flaming Lips as part of the O Music Awards. During the June 2010 event, Hayes opened for the alt-rock band during a 6:30 a.m. concert at a club in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Billed as Hunter Hayes' 24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger, the quick tour will benefit Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity.
