Learning Forum: Dark Shadows – A Total Solar Eclipse

August 18, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Learn about the phenomena of solar eclipses with presenter Frank Belinskey, an amateur astronomer with 45 years of experience. Join us as Frank shares insights into the different types of eclipses our earth experiences. Find out more about the upcoming August 21 solar eclipse placing Rapid City at 95.7% darkness coverage from the sun. A solar eclipse crossing all 50 of the United States has not occurred since 1918 and will not occur again until 2024!

Included in the presentation is information on where to travel to be in the path of totality, where the shadow of the moon completely covers the sun, resulting in brief, total darkness. The Journey Trading Co. is currently selling eclipse glasses with the commemorative date of the “Great American Eclipse” on them.
Admission to “Dark Shadows – A Total Solar Eclipse” includes a free pair of these glasses!

Due to limited seating and glasses availability, we encourage you to call 605-394-6923 to reserve your spot ahead of the event
