| 1. The act is composed of no more than seven individuals
2. The act has not performed on a record charting in the top 100 country format of Billboard, Radio and Records or the Gavin Report within eighteen months pre-ceding local competition
3. Each act has paid the $10.00 registration fee before performing live at the local competition
4. No member of the act was part of the back-up band for monetary compensation within the past year
5. No member of the act is an owner, controlling stockholder, private contractor, or employee (or a family member of any of the above) of the Magnum Broadcasting, Colgate-Palmolive, (or any national sponsor), or SPI
5. No member of the act is related by birth, marriage, or has any on-going business relationship with any Country Showdown judge
6. Performers of any age may enter the local Colgate Country Showdown contest. Any contestant under 18 years of age must submit an entry form signed by the contestant's parent or legal guardian.
7. Act has not been declared a local winner of a 2008 Colgate Country Showdown and is not already eligible for state competition. (Contestants may re-enter the contest at the local level in another state only after being eliminated at a state competition. They must complete a new entry form and pay another entry fee.)
8. The act, either as an individual or as a part of a group, has not been a national winner of the 2005, 2006, or 2007 Country Showdown |
