TMSG: Horse Gets Rescued After Getting Stuck in Swimming Pool

Police officers on New York’s Long Island came to the rescue of a horse that went for a swim and couldn’t get to safety.

Penny, a black mare, was looking for a place to cool off with some warmer temperatures in the area. She decided to go for a swim in her owner’s backyard swimming pool. But then she got entangled in the pool cover at the deep end of the inground pool and was stranded.

Suffolk County police officers along with the Bohemia Fire Department and Emergency Service Section came to the rescue. They were able to lead Penny out of the water by walking her to the shallow end. The police department shared a photo on their Facebook page noting“[Penny] was so grateful that she took the time to snap a group photo with some of her rescuers.”
