TMSG: Teen Fighting Cancer Surprised With Parade & New Car for Sweet 16

Julia Mitchell just turned 16-years-old and her community made sure she remembered it in a huge way.

The teen had gotten a job at Subway when she turned 15-years-old with plans to save money for a car. Unfortunately, she got diagnosed with bone cancer and her plans got sidetracked. Mitchell is set to finish her cancer treatment in April and hopes to get her license as soon as she’s able to.

Her community wanted to make sure she had a 16th birthday celebration to remember. They surprised her with a parade complete with all kinds of sirens blaring and cars. Included in the parade was a car just for Mitchell. She told Inside Edition“I love it, I’ll definitely use it when I’ll be able to.”
