Because of the quick actions of a 5-year-old, her mom is alive today.
5-year-old Adalynn’s mother Chelsey Chmielewski was suffering from a stroke while her husband was at work. Adalynn didn’t know how to read or write, but she did know something was going on with her mom.
The 5-year-old told Fox 6 Now that she knew how to call her dad because of the emojis. So she called him to let him know that her mom needed help getting up, and ended up leaving several voicemails for him “to please get home quickly.”
Her dad knew something was going on because of the back-to-back phone calls, so he listened to his daughter’s voicemails and immediately headed home and called 911. Because of those actions, Chelsey is on the road to recovery and hopes that their story will encourage parents to talk with their kids about what to do in case of an emergency. She said, “I’m forever grateful, and extremely, as her mother, I’m very proud of her.”
