A customer at a Florida restaurant thanked the staff for all of their hard work and just “showing up” with a big tip.
The Wahoo Seafood Grill in Gainesville shared on Instagram that one of their customers asked to speak with the entire staff. The workers gathered in the dining area and the customer thanked them all for “showing up and working hard.” He followed up the compliment by sharing that he would be tipping each of the 10 workers $1,000.
The owner of the restaurant Shawn Shepherd wrote on the Instagram post, “I’m not usually an emotional guy, but this really got me. I’m blown away. We’re ALL blown away by his generosity. The last year and a half hasn’t been easy on this industry. We’re hurting and we’re exhausted, but this incredible act of kindness has restored our faith in humanity.”
