TMSG: Woman Looking To Adopt Pet, Found Dog She Lost 2 Years Ago

Aisha Nieves from Allentown, Pennsylvania lost a dog two years ago, and just recently decided to start searching for a new pup for her family.

She decided to look at the Lehigh County Humane Society’s adoption page. Nieves immediately noticed that a tan pitbull-Rottweiler mix was up for adoption and it looked very familiar. She thought it looked like it was the same beloved dog she lost a few years ago.

She told The Morning Call that she saw the little scar over one eye and the scar from when he got caught in their gate, and immediately knew “that’s my baby, that’s Kovu!”

Nieves first adopted Kovu when he was just 7 weeks old and at LCHS. Kovu was with Nieves until he went missing in May of 2019. Weeks later, he was found in bad health. He was treated and stayed at LCHS for about four months before he was adopted out to a family in October 2019. That family had to return Kovu because they were facing eviction.

So of course when Nieves saw Novu online, she called the shelter to verify she was Kovu’s original owner and reunite with her pup.
