Mr. Big almost didn’t make it to HBO Max’s revival of Sex and the City.

Speaking with Yahoo! Finance, Chris Noth, who notoriously played the role of Mr. Big in the comedy-drama series and its subsequent films, revealed that he was uncertain at first as to whether or not he should join the cast of And Just Like That…, the show’s HBO Max revival.

“It was a little bit of a sort of creative negotiation because I didn’t really feel I had anything to offer in that role again. It kind of felt like I had done it,” he explained.

However, after a talk with executive producer Michael Patrick King, Noth was on board.

“…King is just an incredible writer and has incredible creative ideas, and once we got together and talked about the potential of what we could do with the character, I was all in,” he added.

Along with Noth, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will all reprise their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York Goldenblatt, respectively, for the 10-episode revival.

John Corbett, who plays Carrie’s ex-love, Aidan Shaw, is also set to make an appearance, while Kim Catrall declined the opportunity to reprise her role of Samantha Jones.

Filming for And Just Like That… is currently underway in New York City.
