TMSG: Man Rescues 87-Year-Old Woman He Found In His Car During Snowstorm

Pedro Correa rescued a frail, elderly woman who wandered off from her house right before the latest snowstorm hit Staten Island.

Early Sunday morning, Correa’s neighbor let him know that they thought someone was in his 30-year-old Honda CRX that was sitting in front of their home. So Correa went to check things out and noticed the window cracked. That’s when he saw the 87-year-old woman. He told NY Post, “She was so tiny… she looked up at me and said, ‘I’m cold. I’m scared. Can you please help me?'”

Correa rushed inside and got blankets. He wrapped up the woman, describing her as frail and tiny, and made sure to wrap up her uncovered feet. The woman is ok and has since been reunited with her family.

He noted to NY Post that he never leaves that car open. He rarely uses it, and even more rarely leaves it unlocked, but with the recent snow, he had moved it around multiple times and had forgotten to lock it. Thankfully he did because it became a safe spot for the elderly woman who wandered from her home in an intense snowstorm. He shared,

“If she didn’t have the smarts to roll the window down [not powered windows] I wouldn’t have gone into that car for two weeks. […] It’s a real blessing. It seems like a miracle. I’m happy.”
