Russell Dickerson Talks About Being Chris Tomlin’s Guitar Tech In College

Russell Dickerson came on The Bobby Bones Show to talk about being a new dad, a recent event at the Grand Ole Opry, and an old job that he had in college.

While he was in college, Dickerson used to be Chris Tomlin’s guitar tech. His buddy was one of the sound guys and told Dickerson about the job. That’s when Dickerson decided to drop out of college and go on the road full time. His experience on the road with Tomlin and his team made Dickerson fall in love with the industry and live shows. He was on the road with them for about 2 years. Things came full circle in recent months when Dickerson was on the bill to play the Grand Ole Opry with Tomlin. Dickerson was playing a song when Tomlin came out on stage to play with him.

Besides his growing country music career, Dickerson is also a a new dad. He and his wife Kailey welcomed their baby Remington in the world this past September. Unfortunately, on the same day 4 hours later, Dickerson’s grandmother passed away. Someone gifted Dickerson a piece of something that had his late grandmother’s hand writing on it, and he says it’s something that he will cherish forever. As for Remington, Dickerson shared that he’s growing like crazy. He no longer fits in his car seat or any of his clothes. He also shared that Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line gifted Remington a pair of Yeezys.
