Kenny Chesney Isn’t Spending Quarantine On The Islands

Kenny Chesney is excited about his new album Here And Now that dropped today, but when talking to Bobby Bones, the album is the reason Chesney isn’t quarantining on the islands.

Chesney joked that his classic Kenny Chesney tan isn’t holding up good because he hasn’t seen the sun much. Most people assumed Chesney would definitely be quarantining on the islands, but he’s in Nashville. He’s been busy working on the new album and doing media stuff to promote it. Before quarantine hit, Chesney shared that they wrote all of the songs for the new record during Chesney’s own writing retreats. He had people come out to a rented house in Malibu, California and didn’t allow phones during the writing sessions. He wanted to create a certain vibe for this album. When he’s not focused on the new album, Chesney confessed he’s been watching a lot of old sports on ESPN and he binged all of Ozark awhile back.

Though, Chesney is pretty bummed about the cancellation of the first part of his tour, especially because last Saturday they would have been playing the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas. As far as rescheduling the dates that have been canceled, Chesney says they definitely plan to try to get things back on track. And with the part of the tour that has yet to be cancelled, he says he’s “cautiously optimistic” that they can get back out on the road later this year.
